Gandala is one of only two full siblings bred in Poland from the stallion Ypselon. Ypselon is a stallion from the renown German breeding of Princess Milana zu Furstenberg, with Russian pedigree. Ypselon ran as many as 5 seasons in Warsaw, Sopot, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Baden-Baden and Mulheim and even in Casablanca. Ypselon is a son of Drakon, who ran very well in Russia and won 1/3 of his 31 starts. Drakon's half-brother by the same sire, Drug, was not only a valiant racehorse but also European Champion.
On her dam's side, Gandava, Gandala represents Michałów line of Oaks Prize mistress Garonna - mother of multiple champion and champion sire, widely used in Poland, USA and Sweden in versatile breeding - Ganges. In the list of show titles Ganges is Polish National Champion and Reserve Champion, US National Champion, Swedish International Champion and Best in Show or Reserve Champion of the Nations Cup. Among his handsome progeny are Polish National Reserve Champion and Janów Sale record holder Wieza Wiatrów, sold for USD 220000, as well as other very expensive horses sold from Poland, such as Zulejka, Euro 205000, and Zlota Wieza, Euro 85000. Garonna's line is also known for its performance on the racetrack - Ganges himself ran well, taking most of the prizes, including Koheilan I during his two seasons, as well as his offspring. From the best we can mention the derby winner Don Carlos, Ghazallah, the winner of the Mikhailov and European prizes and Zlatan, the winner of the Borek Award.
Gandala's full brother Gandal started 3 times in 2020 ending 3 times in money.
Gandala, a mare with a balanced character, very strong, tenacious and task oriented, has been trained at LovEnPeas for endurance rallies.
